What Auragraph is, how each test is built and scored, and what these results are — and aren't — meant to be used for.
Auragraph is a free collection of self-report personality and self-insight tests. The goal is simple: take well-established psychological frameworks — the kind normally locked behind academic papers, paywalled assessments, or a therapist's intake form — and make an honest, free, no-account-required version available to anyone who's curious about their own patterns.
We're an independent site, not a clinic, research institution, or medical practice. We don't employ licensed clinicians, and we don't claim to. Every test on this site is built to be transparent about that from the start.
Our Big Five test uses the IPIP (International Personality Item Pool) — a public-domain, peer-reviewed item set built specifically as a free, open alternative to proprietary Big Five inventories used in academic research.
Our screeners (ADHD, autism, OCD, and antisocial traits) and lighter trait tests (narcissism) are original — we don't reproduce any copyrighted clinical instrument. Instead, each test's questions are organized around the symptom or trait domains commonly used to describe that condition in clinical literature (for example, inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity for ADHD, or social communication and restricted/repetitive behaviors for autism). Writing original items around well-known domains, rather than copying an existing scale, is standard practice for informational screeners that aren't licensed clinical tools.
Every test uses the same underlying method: you rate each statement from 1 (Disagree) to 5 (Agree). Some statements are worded in the opposite direction of the trait they measure — this is intentional, and is a standard technique (also used in the original IPIP) to catch inconsistent or careless responding rather than just measuring how readily someone agrees with things.
Each trait or domain's score is the average of its questions, rescaled to a 0–100 percentage. For the screeners, that percentage maps to a result band (e.g. "few traits present" through "many traits present") with plain-language guidance — never a diagnostic label. All of this math runs in your browser; nothing is calculated on a server, and your answers aren't sent anywhere unless you choose to sign in and save a result.
Every test on this site is a self-report tool, meaning it measures how you rated your own experience — not an objective, externally verified measurement. That's true of every personality or screening quiz you'll find online, including much more rigorous ones. Use your results as a prompt for reflection or conversation, not as a conclusion.
For the ADHD, autism, OCD, and antisocial-traits screeners specifically: a real diagnosis requires a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed clinician, and cannot be made from any online quiz, ours included. If your results resonate with you, we'd genuinely encourage talking to a professional — that's the only path to an actual diagnosis, and to the support that can follow from one.
